Flash Flyer - Sakura+ Remake a Card +
#21
Neo Flamvell Garuda
Level 4 | FIRE | Pyro | Effect
1800/200
During your End Phase: You can target 1 card in your opponent's GY; banish it. You must control another "Flamvell" monster to activate/resolve this effect.

Stuff of note:
- DEF has been made 200 to work with everything else.
- Option of banishing rather than forced.
- Level 4 (though I kinda have to do it because 1800 ATK Level 3 is too strong for the game right now). I'd keep it as Level 3, but you know certain people on YCM and elsewhere will bitch like no tomorrow.

Number 56: Goldrat

or

Machine King

Machine King
★★★★★★
EARTH
Machine/Effect
ATK 2200
DEF 2000
If you control no monsters, or all monsters you control are Machine monsters: You can Special Summon this card from your hand. You can only Special Summon "Machine King" once per turn. Gains 100 ATK for each Machine monster on the field.

Number 56: Goldrat OR Number 19: Freezadon (I dub it as Friezadon, fun fact)

Let's fix Number 56, though I do like Number 19 better otherwise.

Number 56: Gold Rat
Rank 1 | LIGHT | Beast | Xyz | Effect
500/600
2+ Level 1 monsters
You can detach 1 material from this card; draw 1 card, then shuffle 1 card from your hand into the Deck.

All I really did was make the material requirement 2+ and ability to draw more.

===
Number 19: Freezadon
Rank 5 | WATER | Dinosaur | Xyz | Effect
2 Level 5 monsters
You can also Xyz Summon this card by using a Rank 4 WATER monster you control as material. (Transfer its materials to this card.) Once per turn: You can detach up to 2 materials, then activate the appropriate effect.
● 1 material: Target 1 face-up card on the field; shuffle it into the Deck.
● 2 materials: Target 1 unoccupied Main Monster Zone or Spell/Trap Zone; the selected zone cannot be used for the rest of the Duel.

This one got a major overhaul instead of loaning its materials to another Xyz. Either you get to bounce something or permanently shut off a Main Monster Zone or S/T. (Now what would happen if I froze off your furthermost S/T zones, hmm?)

Pick 1 of the Match Winners to remake (you know, the ones that usually have cool art but they suck b/c of what they do)

Tyr, the Vanquishing Warlord
LIGHT - Level 10 - Fairy/Effect - 3000/3000
You can Special Summon this card (from your hand) by sending 3 Fairy monsters from your field to the Graveyard, except "Tyr, the Vanquishing Warlord". If Summoned this way, this card cannot be destroyed by battle or card effects, also it cannot be targeted by your opponent's card effects. If this card battles your opponent's monster, at the start of the Damage Step: Gain LP equal to the opposing monster's ATK, then the opposing monster has its ATK and DEF reduced by the amount of LP you gained. If this card attacks, your opponent cannot activate cards or effects until the end of the Damage Step.

Tyr goes from unusable to casually interesting with a redesign fitting of old Fairy boss monsters.

Uria, Lord of Searing Flames

OR

The Wicked Eraser

In either case, try to adapt their respective self-revival. Uria's was based on discarding a Trap, Eraser's was based on your opponent having more cards than you did on the field.
Reply
#25
Technically speaking, none of them can be Special Summoned (least in the real game because their revival effects were not transferred over). Uria can revive in anime; Eraser has no options.

But since people wanted a Sacred Beast deck, let's do Uria (because it isn't reliant on your opponent, which you really don't want to be having in 2019)

Uria, Lord of Searing Flames
Level 10 | FIRE | Pyro | Effect
0/0
Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. Must be Special Summoned by its own effect or from your hand by sending 3 face-up Trap Cards you control to the GY. This card gains 1000 ATK for each Trap Card in your Graveyard. Once per turn: You can target 1 Spell/Trap your opponent controls; destroy it. Neither player can activate Spell/Trap Cards in response to this effect's activation. If this card is destroyed and sent to the GY: You can send 1 Trap Card from your hand to the GY; Special Summon this card. You can only use this effect of "Uria, Lord of Searing Flames" once per turn.

Change log:
- Actually gave Uria its revival effect from the anime.
- Gains ATK for Normal and Counter Traps now (in addition)
- Can blow up any backrow opponent has.

Then again, I had to put a hard OPT on its revival; otherwise, potential abuse (though I doubt Altergeists would even want this card). Yeah, it can be hit by Called, but that applies to everything.

====
I guess remake either the other two Sacred Beasts or the Wicked Gods

Raviel, Lord of Phantasms
DARK - Level 10 - Fiend/Effect - 4000/4000
Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. Must first be Special Summoned by Tributing 3 Fiend monsters. If your opponent Normal or Special Summons a monster(s), you can: Special Summon 1 "Phantasm Token" (Fiend-Type/DARK/Level 1/1000 ATK/1000 DEF),and if you do, reduce the ATK of all monsters your opponent controls by 1000. These Tokens cannot attack. Once per turn: You can Tribute 1 monster; destroy all monsters your opponent controls with ATK less than or equal to the Tributed monster's, and increase this card's ATK by the highest original ATK among the destroyed monsters.

Changelog:
●Semi-nomi, instead of full. Reviving Raviel is now a possibility.
●You now get Phantasms optionally, and when your opponent Special Summons a monster. In addition, Summoning a Phantasm drops the ATK of your opponent's entire board by 1000.
●Instead of a simple "Tribute to boost", you actually nuke everything your opponent controls*, then boost by the original ATK of the biggest monster you blew up.
*provided you used the ATK drop effect intelligently.

1) Hamon, Lord of Striking Thunder
2) The Wicked Avatar
3) Avenging Knight Parshath

(You still have to mention where it's being SS'd from originally, but let's assume it's still the hand)

Hamon, Lord of Striking Thunder
Level 10 | LIGHT | Thunder | Effect
4000 | 4000
Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. Must be Special Summoned (from your hand) by sending 3 face-up Continuous Spell Cards you control to the GY. Unaffected by the effects of Trap Cards, and is only affected by the effects of Spell Cards during the turn they are activated. If this card destroys an opponent's monster by battle: Inflict 1000 damage to your opponent, then you can destroy 1 face-up card your opponent controls. If this card is destroyed, you take no damage until the start of your next turn.

Change log:
- Gets its Trap immunity / zero damage effects from anime
- Doesn't have to send monster to GY, also blows up another card.

I would've loved to have made this a Semi-Nomi, but...being immune to Traps and saying screw you Continuous Spells on opponent's field feels like it's pushing it. The no damage thing should be okay-ish.

=====
Now what do I want remade?

1. Link Bumper (then again, nearly all of Yusaku's shit sucks, sans for Firewall, most of the Code Talkers, Quantum Dragon, etc)
2. Power Tool Dragon (or Life Stream)
3. Dark Rabbit
4. Strike Ninja (seriously, can we make him actually work for the Deck he belongs to instead of DARK)
Reply

Life Stream Dragon
EARTH - Level 8 - Dragon/Synchro/Tuner/Effect - 2900/2400
1 Tuner + 1 or more Synchro monsters
If
this card is Synchro Summoned: You can make your LP become 4000. You take no damage from card effects. Once per turn, if you comtrol this card that was Summoned using a "Power Tool" Synchro monster as Material, you can target 1 non-Tuner Synchro monster in your Graveyard: Special Summon that target, and if you do, you can make the Levels of any number of non-Tuner Synchro monsters you control become 1 or 2. A monster Summoned this way cannot be used as Material for a Summon, except the Synchro Summon of a Dragon monster. If this card would be destroyed, you can banish 1 Equip Spell from your Graveyard instead, and if you do, you can destroy 1 card on the field, except "Life Stream Dragon".

Changelog:
●Let's loosen up those Materials, shall we?
●No missing timing. Never.
●If you used Power Tool or its inferior manga counterpart, this thing becomes a big Synchro dragon button, or even possibly a cheap Quasar/Blazar/Sifr.
●Its protection now comes packaged with optional revenge pops.

One monster per ED Summon mechanic!
1) Elemental HERO Mudballman (it's technically not even a non-Effect monster, due to the Summon condition)
2) Red Wyvern (wrong Attribute, you poor stupid bastard!)
3) Number 44: Sky Pegasus (The worst Number, bar none)
4) Magical Abductor (So stupidly close to being good!)
5) Borrelguard Dragon (The poor thing, both his brothers are utter badasses, and he's eating glue in the corner)

Picking Dark Rabbit and giving him an effect:

Dark Rabbit
Level 4 DARK Beast/Effect
1100/1500
If this card is sent from the field to the GY: You can add 1 Toon monster from your Deck to your hand. You can only use this effect of "Dark Rabbit" once per turn. If a Toon monster(s) you control would be destroyed by battle or card effect, you can banish this card from your GY instead.

N/C: Link Bumper or Parrot Dragon (giving him an effect similar to the direction I took for Dark Rabbit).
Reply
#30
It was time for a Parrot Dragon thing anyway.

Parrot Dragon
Level 5 | WIND | Dragon | Effect
2000 | 1300
If you control a Toon monster, you can Special Summon this card from your hand or GY. If this card is Summoned: You can add 1 Toon monster or a "Toon" Spell/Trap from your Deck or GY to your hand. You can only use this effect of "Parrot Dragon" once per turn.

Let's see...

1. Seiyaryu
2. Cosmo Queen
3. Red-Eyes Black Metal Dragon
4. Elemental HERO Mudballman
5. Raidraptor Final Fortress Falcon

First 3 are a result of Falsebound Kingdom; (4) is from Draco and (5) because certain YCM members complained it sucked at the time.

Red-Eyes Black Metal Dragon
DARK - Level 8 - Dragon/Effect - 2800/2400
Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. Must first be Special Summoned (from your hand or Deck) by Tributing 1 "Red-Eyes" monster equipped with an Equip card. If this card attacks your opponent's monster: You can halve the ATK of the ATK target until the end of the Battle Phase. If a "Red-Eyes" card(s) you control would be destroyed (by battle or your opponent's card effect), you can destroy 1 Equip Card on the field instead. If this card destroys your opponent's monster by battle, you can equip the destroyed monster to this card as an Equip Card with the following effect:
●At the start of the Battle Phase: You can destroy 1 card your opponent controls, and if you do; you can Special Summon 1 "Red-Eyes" monster, or a Fusion monster that lists a "Red-Eyes" monster as Material, from your Graveyard.

Changelog:
●Semi-nomi!
●Can now be Summoned from hand, using any Red-Eyes monster, equipped with any card.
●Has an inverse Metalmorph effect that halves the ATK of anything it battles. Then, if that thing didn't die for whatever reason, its ATK stays halved until the end of the turn, so you can relive Arc-V with the rest of your board.
●Destruction protection not only for itself, but for all Red-Eyes, at the cost of popping a single Equip Card.
●A very faniliar "if it runs over a monster, equip it with the thing it killed" effect.
●At the start of every future Battle Phase, you get one free pop on your opponent's board per equipped monster!

There. Now that's worth playing.

Now, uhh . . . I got skipped. So let's try that again.

To be fair, Black Metal and Metalzoa were always Semi-Nomi, but being from the Deck only kinda sucks. Anyway, I'll assume LHK forgot to check that he wasn't ninja'd (which can happen since MyBB doesn't have the notification thing and you'd really have to rely on the Discord bot telling you that).

Anyway, let's just make Mudballman actually workable (or least give him an effect for crying out loud). Also "where the hell did the two I had go off to" (unless some stupid kid[s] jacked them in middle school).

Elemental HERO Mudballman
Level 6 | EARTH | Warrior | Fusion | Effect
1900 | 3000
1 WATER "Elemental HERO" monster + 1 EARTH "Elemental HERO" monster
Must first be Fusion Summoned. Other "HERO" monsters you control cannot be destroyed by battle, also they cannot be targeted or destroyed by an opponent's card effects.

Now a Semi-Nomi, can use any WATER/EARTH Elemental HERO to make it and actually does shit (at least protect your other HEROs from getting killed in line with Clayman's flavor text). Does it make Mudballman good? In 2019's format, not really but don't complain about something that can block your ass from getting killed.

Next list of cards to pick.

1. Any of the Numeron Gates (These are much worse than #44 because literally copy/paste, only work on themselves for most part and just simple stat boosting that also requires more effort. If you want to remake all 4, be my guest)

2. U.A. Playmaker (sucks more than the UH football team a few years ago [yes I said it; they were trash]; big body, but only stat manipulating)

3. Fandora the Flying Furtress

4. Firewall eXceed Dragon

Fandora the Flying Furtress
Field Spell
During your Draw Phase, after your Normal Draw: You can add 1 monster "Fur Hire" from your Deck to your hand. Once per turn, if you Special Summon a monster "Fur Hire" (Quick Effect): You can destroy a number of cards your opponent controls up to the number of monsters "Fur Hire" you control. If this card is sent from the Field Zone to the Graveyard: You can add any number of monsters "Fur Hire" with different names from your Graveyard to your hand. You can only activate this effect of "Fandora the Flying Furtress" once per turn.

Changelog:
●The Malefic universe can stick to their "no draw, only search" nonsense; pirates don't give two shits about fairness.
●Once per turn mass destruction, without giving up your Field Spell. It can also handle more sneaky surprise pops now; Call of the Haunted is now a tech choice.
●If you do lose the ship, though, these furries ain't gonna die that easily.

Back to "one per mechanic":
1) Super Vehicroid Stealth Union (a four-material Fusion that is directly outclassed by a Normal Summonable monster is agonizing.)
2) Red Wyvern (WHY ARE YOU FIRE?)
3) Number 44: Sky Pegasus (The worst printed Number. The Gates, last I checked, are still in the limbo of anime land.)
4) Magical Abductor
5) Borrelguard Dragon
Reply
#34
Yup, the Gates are still anime and as they stand, I don't think Konami will print them without pissing off the fan base for wasted cardboard (also see the smaller Assault BW Synchros, because YCM bitched about them.)

Anyway...

Super Vehicroid Stealth Union
Level 9 | EARTH | Machine | Fusion | Effect
3600 | 3000
4 "roid" Machine monsters with different names
Must first be Fusion Summoned, or Special Summoned by banishing the above materials you control and/or from your GY (in which case you do not use "Polymerization"). If this card attacks a Defense Position monster, inflict doubled piercing battle damage to your opponent. Once per turn: You can target 1 face-up monster on the field, except this card; equip it to this card. While equipped by this effect, this card can attack all monsters your opponent controls once each.

Change log:
- Materials are generic and you have another way to Summon this without needing Polymerization/internal Fusion stuff.
- No more halving ATK (seriously Konami, what the fuck)
- Doubled piercing damage
- Can equip other Machines to itself

OK...I think I just broke this hard with all the big changes, but if I'm investing 4-5 cards into this, I damn well better get a good payout. I want to put an anti-Kaiju thing in there, but that's already too much.

Let's try the ED summon thing (and Rituals)

1. Archfiend's Awakening (Konami, explain why all of Summoned Skull's ED forms are legitimate shit and wasting valuable SCR slots in FIGA. You can revamp any of them if you want instead of just this one.)

2. UFOroid Fighter

3. Grizzly, the Red Star Beast OR Stardust Divinity (aka revamp the Match Winners into something decent; remember the latter is part of Yusei.dek so...)

4. Number 44: Sky Pegasus (I guess redo it for Draco's sake)

5. Astrograph Sorcerer (not like it'll get TCG kids to shut the hell up if Astro gets fixed, but it's something)

6. Guardragon Agarpain (RIP his ass on OCG's banlist)

P.S. Anime/manga-only cards are permissible if you really need to.

Archfiend's Awakening
DARK - Level 6 - Fiend/Ritual/Effect - 2500/1200
You can Ritual Summon this card using "Contract with the Abyss". This card is treated as "Summoned Skull" on the field and in the Graveyard, but it is still treated as an "Archfiend" card. "Summoned Skull" you control cannot be destroyed by battle or monster effects, except battle with or the effects of Ritual monsters. While you control this face-up card, if you Summon "Summoned Skull": You can negate the effects of 1 face-up card your opponent controls. If this card is sent from the field to the Graveyard by your opponent's card: You can Special Summon 1 "Summoned Skull" from your hand, Deck, or Graveyard, except "Archfiend's Awakening".

Changelog:
●Keeps the name in the Graveyard for revival purposes.
●The entire board of Summoned Daemon wannabes has blanket destruction protection from non-Rituals, not just Awakening.
●Each Summoned Skull you Summon while keeping Awakening on the field is a free, permanent effect shutdown on a card your opponent controls.
●No longer needs to have been Ritual Summoned to float, but can no longer float into itself.

1)Red Wyvern
2)Archfiend's Manifestation
3) Archfiend's Call
4) Archfiend's Ascent
5) Stardust Re-Spark
Reply
#36
I think I already did Red Wyvern (albeit keeping the Attribute b/c most of ARC-V Jack's stuff is FIRE, sans the RDA counterparts).

So...let's do Stardust Re-Spark (b/c the ED Skulls aren't worth my time)

Stardust Re-Spark
Normal Trap
When an opponent's monster declares a direct attack, if its ATK is greater than or equal to your LP: Negate the attack, and if you do, draw 1 card, then you can Special Summon 1 Level 10 or lower Dragon or Synchro Monster from your Extra Deck or GY, ignoring Summoning conditions. If you control no monsters, you can activate this card from your hand.

Changes:
- Doesn't have to be SS'd (which is slightly irrelevant outside of Monarchs or other shit that doesn't SS much or some other things)
- Summons any Level 10 or lower Dragon Synchro and ignores conditions. (Yes, you can't summon Charge/Assault Warrior or the Main Deck now, but you can at least access Chronicle, Shooting Star and whatever else)
- Can be used as hand trap if needed.
- No OPT usage

Mirror Force Launcher
Continuous Trap
Once per turn: You can discard 1 card: Add 1 "Mirror Force" Normal Trap card from your Deck or Graveyard to your hand. If the effect of "Mirror Force" or "Mirror Force Dragon" activates, you can negate the effects of 1 face-up monster your opponent controls. If this Set card is destroyed by a card effect: You can Set this card from your Graveyard and 1 "Mirror Force" from your hand, Deck, or Graveyard. They can be activated this turn.

Changelog:
●No longer restricted to your Main Phase.
●Searches/recovers any of the Mirror Force Traps, not just the OG.
●Restores some of the oomph to Mirror Force (and Mirror Force Dragon) by letting you switch off the protection effects of a modern monster.

1) Amazoness Willpower (Why is it strictly weaker than CotH?)
2) Revival Jam (It did not deserve the absurdly hard nerf it got)
3) Frightfur Chimera (poor bastard got done dirty)
4) Rokket Synchron (WHY DON'T YOU HAVE YOUR ARCHETYPE'S SIGNATURE EFFECT?)
5) Battle Eater (anime-only from 5Ds, but . . . just look.)
[DARK - Level 7 - Warrior/Effect - 2300/0
If your opponent's monster declares an attack with a monster whose ATK is less than or equal to this card's, you can discard 2 cards: Take damage equal to this card's ATK, then inflict damage to your opponent equal to half their attacking monster's original ATK, also Special Summon this card from your hand in Defense Position.]
Reply

The problem is that Mirror Force is technically a series (due to Japanese naming). To include the rest, you'd probably have to change it somewhat.

Anyway, let's redo Revival Jam (though I suspect the nerfing was done at the time to make it far for 2001~2002 Yugioh; by our standards, you're dead by next turn)

Revival Jam
Level 4 | WATER | Aqua | Effect
1500 | 500
If another monster you control is targeted for an attack: You can change the attack target to this card. If this card is destroyed: You can pay 800 LP; Special Summon this card.

Didn't really need to change much, outside of making it trigger on effect removal too and the cost is lessened. Also lets you summon in Attack Position if you really wanted to (not that it is advised). So...kinda like the anime/manga but not as annoying to remove.

(Oh and I worked Jam Defender in here too, so...that's some slots you can use for other shit)

2. Kaiser Eagle, the Heaven's Mandate (or the other one from this year; you pick)

5. Panther Warrior

Gadget Soldier
EARTH - Level 4 - Machine/Effect - 1800/2000
If you control no monsters, you can Special Summon this card (from your hand) in Attack Position with its ATK halved. If you Normal or Special Summon a "Gadget" monster while you control this face-up card: You can target 1 card your opponent controls: Destroy that target. You can only activate each of the following effects of "Gadget Soldier" once per turn:
●You can Special Summon 1 "Gadget" monster from your hand or Graveyard.
●You can target a number of face-up cards your opponent controls, up to the number of face-up "Gadget" monsters you control, except "Gadget Soldier": Negate the effects of that target(s), until your next Standby Phase (even if this card leaves the field).

Changelog:
●EARTH Level 4 Effect monster now, to be more consistent with other Gadgets.
●Has a solid effect now, to actually turn Gadgets into a competent Deck.

1) Fox Fire (If you can't even be used as Tribute fodder, what purpose do you have?)
2) Amazoness Willpower (Strictly inferior CotH, when archetypal equivalents usually have some reason to exist)
3) Battle Eater (anime-only; read my last post for its effect)
4) Frightfur Chimera (WHYYY)
5) Rokket Synchron (Have the decency of also having your archetype's signature effect please)
Reply

(Fox Fire can be Tributed for card effects, but not Tribute Summons sucks. Let us fix that.)

Fox Fire
Level 2 | FIRE | Pyro | Effect
300 | 200
If this card is sent from the field to the GY: You can Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower FIRE monster with 1850 or less ATK from your hand, Deck or GY in face-up Attack Position or face-down Defense Position, except "Fox Fire". You can only use this effect of "Fox Fire" once per turn. During the End Phase, if this card is in the GY because it was sent there this turn: You can Special Summon it.

Changes:
- Can revive itself regardless of how it goes to the GY (though it needs to be on the field to trigger that Summon thing)
- Removal of the no Tribute thing
- Can float into any FIRE monster with the statline (that statline is intentional for Hiita, who this card is a familiar to)
