Flash Flyer - Sakura+ Create a Link Monster +
#21
Rail Cannon Queen
EARTH - Link-1 - Machine/Link/Effect - 1800 - L
1 "Rail Cannon Delinquent"
This card is treated as "Rail Cannon Delinquent" for the effects of Trap Cards. Unaffected by the effects of Trap Cards, and monsters that are not in the same column as this card. Once per turn (Quick Effect): You can move this card to one of your unoccupied Monster Zones, and if you do, you can banish a number of cards from the top of your opponent's Deck equal to the number of cards in the same column as this card. If you activate a "Rail" Normal Trap Card: You can look at your opponent's hand and banish 1 card from it. You can only activate this effect of "Rail Cannon Queen" once per turn.

Options:
1. A Link monster for an AGM Generic series
2. A Link whose effects blend together several cards from a Deck that used to be good a decade ago or more.

Dark Armed Champion Esper
DARK
Psychic/Link/Effect
ATK 2800
LINK-3
BL B R
3 DARK Effect Monsters
If this card is Link Summoned: You can add 1 Level 7 or higher DARK monster that cannot be Normal Summoned/Set from your Deck to your hand. You can only use 1 of the following effects of "Dark Armed Champion Esper" per turn, and only once that turn.
● You can target 1 of your banished DARK monsters; return it to the GY.
● You can target 1 Psychic or DARK monster in your GY; Special Summon that target to your zone this card points to.

Not sure if the TeleDAD deck idea worked for option #2, but I tried. And yes, it is TeleDAD support. Its materials send fuel to DAD, which is searched by this, while it plays a bit with its other 2 effects.

N/C: A Link Monster for a TCG-only theme that didn't have one (so, no F.A., Burning Abyss or SPYRAL Links).

That leaves us with:
- U.A.
- Valkyrie
- Kaiju (but why do they need a Link)
- Time Thieves
- Dream Mirror
- Danger! (though they do not deserve a Link)

U.A. Trainer
Link 2 | EARTH | Warrior | Link | Effect
1800
SW SE
2 EARTH Warrior monsters
When this card is Link Summoned: You can Special Summon 1 "U.A." monster from your hand, Deck or GY to a zone this card points to, except "U.A. Trainer", then you can add 1 "U.A. Stadium" from your Deck or GY to your hand. While you control this Link Summoned card, you can Normal Summon Level 5 or higher "U.A." monsters from your hand without Tributing.

Let's pick another TCG exclusive arch (wasn't released in Japan first) to make a Link for.

Time Thief Undoer
DARK
Psychic/Link/Effect
ATK 1800
LINK-2
T B
2 DARK Effect Monsters
Cannot be used as Link Material. You can target 1 "Time Thief" Xyz Monster this card points to; attach this card to it as a material. If this card is detached from an Xyz Monster and sent to the GY to activate that monster's effect: You can Special Summon this card, but banish it when it leaves the field. You can only use 1 "Time Thief Undoer" effect per turn, and only once that turn.

Honestly, I want more Time Thieves. Do I want it badly? Of course.

Now, make a Link Monster that supports the Ritual engine of the Blue-Eyes deck (Chaos, Chaos MAX, Chaos Form, etc.)

Blue-Eyes Deep Chaos Dragon
DARK - Link-1 - Dragon/Link/Effect - 1500 - B
1 Level 8 Dragon monster
Must be Link Summoned using the above Material, and cannot be Summoned from the Extra Deck by other effects. When this card is Link Summoned: You can add 1 each of "Chaos Form" and a "Blue-Eyes" monster from your Deck or Graveyard to your hand. While this card points to a "Blue-Eyes" Ritual monster, this card gains the effects of the monster it points to, and ATK equal to half that monster's ATK. All cards and effects on your opponent's field and in their Graveyard are negated during the Battle Phase.

Agarpain forced the first restriction. I had to. Everything else is self-explanatory.

A Link for a series in the Generics thread.

We know; that's why Yugioh people on the internet wanted Agarpain to get hit (or least Guardragon in general).

Sakura the Evolutionary Storm Trainer
Link 2 | WIND | Warrior | Link | Effect
2600
SW SE
2 "Evolutionary" monsters with 2100 or 2300 ATK or DEF
This card's Attribute is also treated as the Attributes of the monsters used as Link Material. Your opponent cannot activate cards or effects when you Summon an "Evolutionary" monster or activate an "Evolutionary" monster effect in your possession. (Quick Effect): You can Special Summon 1 "Evolutionary" monster from your hand, Deck or GY to a zone this card points to, except "Sakura the Evolutionary Storm Trainer". You can only use the effect of "Sakura the Evolutionary Storm Trainer" once per turn.

(aka "hi me again in Link form for Eeveelutions". If it wasn't already obvious, the Evolutionary series is literally Team Eevee, though I suspect I will be adding a 9th member once Sword and Shield leak more data.)

Time to design a Link for AGM archetypes

Geargoyle Gate Troll
EARTH - Link-3 - Fiend/Link/Effect - 2400 - L/BL/B
2+ monsters, including at least 1 "Geargoyle" monster
If this card is Link Summoned: You can add 1 "Geargoyle" monster from your Deck to your hand. You can only activate this effect of "Geargoyle Gate Troll" once per turn. While you control a Synchro monster, "Geargoyle" monsters you control cannot be targeted by your opponent's card effects. Once per turn, if you Synchro Summon a "Gargoyle" Synchro monster: You can Special Summon 1 "Geargoyle" monster from your Graveyard of a different Type than the monster you Synchro Summoned.

Create a Link-5 for an archetype that spams enough to support its existence.

Part of me wants to make a Psychic Dragon Link because we all know how good they are at spamming the board, but since the archetype is already convoluted as-is, I'll stick to something else (preferably an existing archetype in the game).

Salamangreat Solar Hydra
Link 5 | FIRE| Cyberse | Link | Effect
3500
W E SW S SE
3+ FIRE monsters
When this card is Link Summoned: You can destroy cards your opponent controls up to the number of monsters used as Link Material for this card; destroy them. If this card is Link Summoned using "Salamangreat Solar Hydra" as material: You can inflict 500 damage to your opponent for each, also your opponent cannot activate cards or effects in response to this effect's activation. This Link Summoned card can attack all monsters your opponent controls once each. If a "Salamangreat" monster you control would be destroyed: You can banish 1 other "Salamangreat" card you control or from your GY.

Not like Soulburner will ever get a Link 5 in the foreseeable future, but Salamangreat can still do what they have to (even if they HAVE to run Phantazmay now. Also TCG can burn in hell for what they did to the Deck; OCG wasn't even as bad.)

=====
Let's make one of the following:
- "Valkyrie" Link
- Dragon Link
- Link 2 or higher with Top Left / Right arrows that does not restrict you from doing the V-Link

Prison Vault Dragon
DARK - Link-4 - Dragon/Link/Effect - 2000 - TL/T/TR/B
2+ monsters with exactly 2000 original ATK
Cannot be Summoned, except by Link Summon using the above Link Materials. This card gains 200 ATK for each Link Marker pointing to linked monsters on the field. Negate the effects of monsters this card points to (this effect cannot be negated).

Hypothetically, you could V-link with this thing and any two good old fashioned Link-2 monsters with BL/BR arrows, but those two monsters will have their effects permanently negated while Prison Vault camps out in the center MMZ. With this method of V-Link, this thing also becomes a 2800 beater, so . . . yeah.

Create a Link-1 that names one specific monster as its Link Material (ie, an Invoked Link that specifically uses just Aleister).

Number L54: Lion Soul
EARTH
Warrior/Link/Effect
ATK 100
LINK-1
Left
"Number 54: Lion Heart"
If this card is Link Summoned: Place Link Counters on this card for each material the monster used for this card's Link Summon had. This Attack Position card cannot be destroyed by battle. When you take battle damage from battles involving this card: Inflict damage to your opponent equal to the amount of battle damage you took. While this card points to no monsters, it gains this effect.
● If this card battles an opponent's monster, during damage calculation (Quick Effect): You can remove 1 Link Counter from this card; your opponent takes any battle damage you would have taken from that battle, also this card gains ATK equal to that damage.

Number 54: Lion Heart. Also, the L in the name is for the word "Link".

Now, make a Cipher version of Galaxy-Eyes Solflare Dragon.

Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Eclipse Dragon
Link 2 | LIGHT | Dragon | Link | Effect
2000
SW SE
2 LIGHT monsters, including a "Cipher" monster
If this card is Link Summoned: You can target 1 "Cipher" monster in your GY; Special Summon it. During your opponent's Main Phase (Quick Effect): You can banish 1 "Galaxy-Eyes" or "Cipher" monster from your Extra Deck, face-down, then target up to 2 Special Summoned monsters your opponent controls; Special Summon them to zones this card points to. You can only use each effect of "Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Eclipse Dragon" once per turn. This card's Attribute is also treated as DARK while face-up on the field or in the GY.

It's basically "revive shit" and Borreload stealing stuff.

====
Make another legacy Link Monster (i.e. any archetype that doesn't have an existing one gets one for the next task)

Try not to choose one of your customs, even though MR4 AGM will sort of require them down the road.

Sealing Sage of the Ice Barrier
WATER - Link-2 - Spellcaster/Link/Effect - 1400 - T/B
2 WATER monsters
If this card is Link Summoned: You can Special Summon 1 "Ice Barrier" monster from your hand, Deck, or Graveyard. You can only activate this effect of "Sealing Sage of the Ice Barrier" once per turn. While you control another "Ice Barrier" monster, your opponent cannot add cards from their Deck to their hand by card effects, nor can they activate the effects of monsters from their hand. Once per turn, if a monster is Summoned to a Zone this card points to, you can target 1 face-up card your opponent controls (Quick Effect): Return that target to its original owner's hand.

Create a Link that makes an old "drawback effect" (say, certain monsters changing battle positions after they attack, other monsters self-destructing under specific circumstances, one of the many limitations that an old 2K Level 4 was stuck with, etc.) into a benefit in some way.
Reply
#33
Let's do the one with battle position changing.

Battle General
Link 2 | EARTH | Warrior | Link | Effect
1600
SW SE
2 monsters, except Tokens
When a monster you control attacks and is changed to Defense Position by its own effect: You can send 1 card from your hand to the GY; change that monster's battle position, and if you do, it gains 800 ATK, also it can make a second attack in a row.

I suspect there will be some abuse here in Goblin Warrior spam turbo.dek or whatever, but considering no one even bothers with said card competitively, I think it should be alright.

====

Let's make a Link equivalent of the old Attribute searchers.
Reply
#34
You mean Attribute floaters?

Archfiend Tomato
DARK - Link-2 - Plant/Link/Effect - 1400 - L/BL
2 DARK monsters
If a DARK monster is Summoned to a Zone this card points to, you can target 1 face-up monster on the field: Negate that target's effects that resolve on the field. If another DARK monster you control is destroyed: You can Special Summon 1 DARK monster from your hand or Deck with 1500 or less ATK. If this card is destroyed by battle or your opponent's monster effect: You can Special Summon 1 DARK monster from your Graveyard, except a Link monster. You can only activate each effect of "Archfiend Tomato" once per turn.

Give an older archetype that functions around its Field Spell (Amazoness, Venom, Gravekeeper, etc.) a Link-1 that searches that Field Spell on Summon, and has at least 1 other effect that benefits the Deck's playstyle.
Reply
#35
Yeah, I meant the floaters (the 1400 ATK ones from Magic/Spell Ruler)

Then again, depending on the definition of "older", you want DM/GX era shit or I can go make something like Morphtronics (even though they need a massive face-lift)? To be safe, I'll just do the older ones.

====
Gravekeeper's Spirit
Link 1 | DARK | Spellcaster | Link | Effect
1100
S
1 "Gravekeeper's" monster, except "Gravekeeper's Spirit"
If this card is Link Summoned: You can add 1 "Necrovalley" card from your Deck to your hand. You can target 5 "Gravekeeper's", "Necrovalley" and/or "Royal Tribute(s)" cards in your GY; shuffle all 5 into the Deck, then draw 2 cards. This effect cannot be negated by the effect of "Necrovalley". You can only use each effect of 'Gravekeeper's Spirit" once per turn.

Search the field, then recycle dead supports (including the Semi-Limited Royal Tribute). Also makes Commandant less dead if you have to.

Let's make a Link 6 or higher monster next.

When I discuss "older", I mean from DM, GX, or 5Ds before the Dark Signers arc ended. You could do Morphtronics for a future "old" prompt, but not that previous one . . . because they don't give one iota about their Field.

Grand Gripper of Fate
EARTH - Link-6 - Spellcaster/Link/Effect - 3300 - L/BL/B/BR/R/T
2+ monsters with the same Type but different Attributes, including at least 1 non-Effect monster
This card cannot be destroyed by battle or card effects, nor can it be targeted by your opponent's card effects. This card gains the appropriate effects depending on the number of Link Materials used for its Link Summon:
●3+: This card gains 500 ATK for each card it points to.
●4+: If a card or effect is activated, you can destroy 1 card this card points to (Quick Effect): Negate the activation, and if you do, banish that card.
●5+: Once per turn, if your opponent would Special Summon exactly 1 monster, you can reduce this card's ATK by the ATK of the monster that would be Summoned (Quick Effect): Negate the Summon, and banish that card. This change lasts until the End Phase.
●6: Once per turn (Quick Effect): You can banish 1 card from either player's Graveyard; reduce the ATK of all monsters your opponent controls by 300 for each card in the Banished Zone, and if you do, the effects of monsters with 500 or less ATK, and your opponent's Spell/Trap Cards on the field, are negated for the rest of the turn.

It takes a lot of effort to Summon, and requires at least one otherwise useless card, but the payoff is absolutely absurd if you can even put 4 Materials in. Welcome to the new Quasar standard.

Create a Link counterpart to a Type floater (Howling Insect, Masked Dragon, UFOroid, etc.)
Reply

If you mean GKs, then they need it for their backrow. For Morphtronics, yeah, they don't care about it except for free boosts and floating.

Masked Wyvern
Link 2 | FIRE | Dragon | Link | Effect
1800
W S
2 Dragon monsters
If this card is destroyed: You can Special Summon up to 2 Dragon monsters with 1500 or less ATK from your Deck or GY. During the End Phase, if this card is in your GY because it was sent there this turn: You can Special Summon it. You can only use each effect of "Masked Wyvern" once per turn.

(Yes, this thing CAN float the Guardragons back if you Link Summoned them properly given stat lines, but it's inevitable that stuff happens. AKA "Dragons can't get nice things because Guardragon abuse by Agarpain".)

====
Pick one of the Types that have very little representation as Links.
- Aqua (2)
- Zombie (4)
- Pyro (1; just the Prank-Kid one)
- Rock (1; GK Link that we barred from MR3 AGM)
- Plant (2)
- Thunder (3)
- Beast-Warrior (3; Fire King stuff and the Daruma)
- Dinosaur (3; Reprodocus and Go's Season 2 shit)
- Fish (0)
- Sea Serpent (1)
- Reptile (1)
- Psychic (3)

Everything else I didn't mention either has more than 5 (i.e. Cyberse, Dragon) or we're not going there (Divine-Beast). I'm using YGOPro to filter, so...need to discount the customs I have made which will bump up the number of certain cards heavily.

Gogogo Gladiator
EARTH - Link-3 - Rock/Link/Effect - 2400 - BL/BR/R
2+ EARTH monsters
If this card is Link Summoned: You can add 1 "Gogogo" card from your Deck to your hand. Once per turn, you can target 1 EARTH Rock monster in your Graveyard: Special Summon that target in Defense Position. Once per turn, you can shuffle 3 of your banished Rock monsters into your Deck (Quick Effect): Draw 1 card, and if the drawn card is a Rock monster, you can reveal it and any number of Rock monsters in your hand, and destroy that number of cards on the field. If an EARTH Rock monster(s) you control would be destroyed or banished by your opponent's card effect: You can banish 1 EARTH Rock monster from your Graveyard; negate that effect, and if you do, banish it, and if you do that, you can Set 1 "Rock Bombardment" from your Deck or Graveyard.

Run Megarock Dragon. Run Gogogo. Run Rock Bombardment.

Create a Link that helps the win condition of either Sanaphond the Sky Prison or Diablosis the Mind Hacker.

None of them have win cons, but let's do something that facilitates 1 of them.

Sky Prison Warden
Link 3 | DARK | Warrior | Link | Effect
2100
N E S
2+ monsters
Once per turn: You can activate 1 of these effects;
- Special Summon 1 "Number 68: Sanaphond the Sky Prison" from your Extra Deck or GY, then attach 1 card from your hand or GY to it as material.
- Send the top 3 cards of both player's Decks to the GY.
While this card points to a Rank 7 or higher Xyz Monster, the effects of cards in your opponent's GY are negated, also they cannot be moved to a different place.

====

Let's choose another Type from that list to make Links for.
Reply
#40
Shadow Serpent
DARK - Link-1 - Reptile/Link/Effect - 0 - BR
1 Level 4 or lower Reptile monster
If this card is Link Summoned: You can Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower DARK Reptile monster from your Deck, and if you do, draw 1 card. You can only activate this effect of "Shadow Serpent" once per turn. If this card battles your opponent's monster whose original ATK is not 0: That opposing monster loses ATK and DEF equal to its original ATK, and this card gains that lost ATK during damage calculation only. If this card destroys your opponent's monster by battle: You can add 1 DARK Reptile monster with 1500 or less ATK from your Deck to your hand. If this card leaves the field by your opponent's card (by battle or your opponent's card effect): You can Special Summon any number of DARK Reptile monsters from your Graveyard with different names in Defense Position, but if you do, you cannot Summon non-Reptile monsters for the rest of the Duel.

Create a support Link for an AGM archetype or series that you were not involved in.
