Because Sakura's playing A LOT of Sonic Forces lately (and yes, this is the one I went through the entire game with).

Monsters are derived from the 7 different animals you can play as for an Avatar, whereas the Equip Spells are the obvious weapons [Wispon]. (Also Field Spell being named after the final Avatar stage)

I want to try adding in the Double/Triple Boost thing somewhere, but IDK.

(As for Rookie Squirrel, that came from a card game. So now you know what archetype it was meant for without looking at my Wikia)

If this card is Link Summoned: You can Special Summon up to 3 non-Link "Resistance Avatar" monsters from your hand, Deck, and/or GY to your zones this card points to, also you cannot Special Summon monsters for the rest of this turn, except "Resistance Avatar" monsters. You can only use this effect of "Resistance Battlemech Omega" once per turn. If your "Resistance Avatar" monster battles, your opponent cannot activate cards or effects until the end of the Damage Step. Cannot be used as Link Material.

Added a Link 3 in Omega to sorta fix a few issues involving field presence; also fits thematically.

Though...because they still need Imperial Tower to do a lot of jump starting, you really need to run Wolf at 3 (or at the maximum allowed). No exceptions.
